1. Research Topics at LCFC department
Presentation of the Mechanical Design Manufacturing and Control Department (LCFC) department, its facilities and a short presentation of some actual topics developed in the department
2. From Biped to Humanoid Robots: Design and Control
First, an analysis of the design of biped robots is done. This analysis is highlighted by the history of the most important biped developed in the world and in France. Finally, the problem of simulation of a walking gait and the consequence for the control of biped is investigated. Some results of simulation and on real systems are presented."

Prof. Gabriel Abba has joined the “Ecole Normale Supérieure de Cachan”, France, in 1979, and received the “Agrégation” of Ministry of Education in Electrical Engineering in 1982. He received the Doctorate degree in Electronics and Robotics from the University of Paris XI-Orsay, Paris, France, in 1986. Since 2004, he has been at National Engineering School of Metz, where he is currently a Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering. His research interests include development, modeling and control of robots, specially control of legged robots, visual servoing, manipulator control, design of robots and modelling and control of electromechanical actuators for industrial applications. He has made many contributions to robot dynamics, legged locomotion, process optimization, modelling of mechanical system and process and he has over 110 publications in Journals or Conferences. Since 2013, he is the Head of the Mechanical Design Manufacturing and Control Department (LCFC).
