主講人簡介:
Professor J. Michael McCarthy received the Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Loyola Marymount University in 1974, the Master's Degree and Doctor of Philosophy in Mechanical Engineering from the Stanford University in 1975 and 1979 respectively.
He is a professor in Mechanical & Aerospace Engineering of the Henry Samueli School of Engineering of the University of California, Irvine since 1986. He has over 200 publications and three books including The Geometric Design of Linkages. He has served as the Editor-in-Chief of the ASME Journal of Mechanical Design (2002-2007) and was the founding Editor-in-Chief of the ASME Journal of Mechanisms and Robotics (2007-2014). Professor McCarthy has received the 2008 ASME Outstanding Service Award and the 2009 ASME Machine Design Award. In 2011, he received the ASME Mechanisms and Robotics Award for his research contributions, and in 2013 he received Robert E. Abbott Lifetime Service Award from the Design Engineering Division of ASME International.
His research interests include Machine Design, Kinematic Synthesis of Robotic Systems, Project-based Learning.
